The Charleston Chapter of the Association of Government Accountants will hold a Charity Golf Tournament to benefit the Union Mission of Charleston on Sat. The 7th Annual Walk for Kids will be on Sat. Aug. 27 at Appalachian Power Park from 10a-2p. All donations support the East End Family Resource Center After School Program at Roosevelt on Charleston's East End. This free after school program enriches lives of "at risk" kids livin in homeless shelters and living in homes in Charleston's East End by providing free nutritious snacks, directed exercise, homework help, computer instruction plus instruction plus activities like art, music, Reading to Rover, and scout troop meetings. Community members, businesses, organizations, and churches can help support this program and the 7th Annual Walk for Kids by signing up teams of 10 to walk that day for $100 a team, sponsor children who walk, and/or by giving monetary donations. Bring the entire family on August 27th for $10.00 per family member, walk and then let the children have fun on the inflatable equipment and climbing wall.
